My friend has a house converted from a shed an hour away from her home. It’s where she boards her horses. The little shed has a window air conditioner and faux fireplace. My friend complains that the air conditioner doesn’t get her little home very cold. Since I’m handy with things, I offered to come out and fix it, but when I arrived, I noticed the air conditioner was working! If you stood 10 feet away or less, you felt the cold air, but beyond that, it was warm. That’s because the building is drafty! It had a tin roof! An air conditioner can’t cool a building that isn’t airtight! My friend didn’t seem to believe me. I suggested we seal the building up and that a little insulation would also help!
