Had some trouble installing my HVAC

He said I would probably have had to run it for longer than a few minutes to ruin anything with the system

When I installed an HVAC system in my home, I was worried because it seemed the system was not operational. I mean, it turned on and it was blowing air, but the air was not cold in the slightest. I also noticed there was a certain code that came up on the indoor HVAC units. I felt entirely stupid after realizing that I forget a very crucial step, and that’s to release the refrigerant into the HVAC system. So I made sure everything was shut off and released the refrigerant. This was something I should not have forgotten because it was clearly stated in the installation video not to forget this crucial step. I also learned that it’s dangerous to run the system without any refrigerant running through the lines. I was kind of concerned about the idea that I may have ruined the HVAC system that I just paid a small fortune for, but fortunately the A/C was ice cold after I opened up the refrigerant lines. It seemed that everything was running with no issues. Even my friend was telling me that it wasn’t likely that I did any damage to my HVAC system. He said I would probably have had to run it for longer than a few minutes to ruin anything with the system. He said if it was a few hours, there might be serious damage, but I definitely shut the system off quickly when I saw the error code on the indoor HVAC units. So far I am enjoying the new ductless mini split, even my energy bills have gone down by a good amount.
