For my birthday, my grandparents gave me a premium subscription to AAA.
They said they knew how old my car was and they wanted me to be protected if anything happened.
I was sure my baby would never let me down, but I was still grateful for such a generous gift. My best friend and I were planning a summer trip to the beach. We had never been so far away from home without our parents. We were almost to the beach when my girlfriend told me she thought the car was getting warm. I tried to turn up the air conditioning, but nothing happened. I didn’t have air conditioning or a fan. It seemed like everything that would help to cool the car off had quit running. We had the windows open, but this far south, open windows were only making it warmer. I knew I couldn’t afford to have the air conditioning unit repaired. We barely had enough money for our vacation. My girlfriend reminded me that my grandparents had bought me the AAA membership. I called the number on my AAA key fob. Not only did I end up with a new HVAC unit, but I also had a new radiator installed, and it only cost me about fifty dollars. I always said Grandma and Grandpa gave the best gifts. Without my AAA credit card I didn’t know I had, and the AAA membership, it would have cost me so much more. An HVAC system and radiator for my car could have cost as much as one thousand dollars.
