People thought it was stupid when I started talking about doing a podcast that was a combination of love advice and HVAC system advice.
I had been through so many relationships that I felt like I had something to offer to people who didn’t know what was wrong in their relationship.
I mean, all I could do was give advice, I wasn’t going to be the one who thought that I was always right about everything. I also have a couple of buddies who happen to be HVAC professionals and they were curious about getting on my show. Originally it was going to be only love advice and maybe some household maintenance, but I was happy when my friends wanted to join me. We have enjoyed a lot of excellent shows and they have become surprisingly popular. I had no idea how many people around were regularly looking for HVAC system advice. I do believe a lot of people appreciated the relationship advice as well. It’s also interesting because a lot of people in relationships fight about something in particular when it comes to comfort in the home, they fight over the temperature control settings! I can’t tell you how many people have called in just to talk about that, and fortunately my buddies have some of the best advice. They say if you can’t afford a fancy upgrade, it’s a good idea to have window A/C units in separate rooms so you can enjoy customized temperature control in your own space. They also say how upgrading to HVAC zone control is a big hit in relationships, and helps lower the energy bills. You can always get a ductless mini split system also with multiple zones, and this is a highly energy efficient system, so it’s easily worth the investment.
