Sometimes, you can fix what's broken

Recently, I ran into a little problem with my nifty little portable space heater.

I have been relying on the little guy for three winters at this point.

He had been keeping my bedroom warm every night without issue for all that time. Then, without warning, he gave out on me one night. Ultimately, I figured that there was nothing to be done for it and that I should simply replace the unit with a new one as soon as I could. Then I got to thinking that, perhaps, it was within my ability to repair the little space heater. I am not particularly mechanically inclined, but I know how to work on basic machinery and the principles involved with that. I finally decided that it was worth the money to try and see if I couldn’t solve the problem myself. I opened the space heater to take a look inside. At first, the problem was not evident. Then, I noticed that there was something jamming the fan inside. I dislodged the debris, and gave the entire inner workings of the space heater a thorough cleaning just to be sure. I put the housing back on and tried to turn it on. Walah! it worked like a charm all over again. Now I would not have to go to the store to replace the heater. I basically saved a hundred bucks in only ten minutes! It just goes to show you that sometimes, putting a little work in can save you a lot of money instead of simply throwing something out.
