The past year has seen myself and others cooking nearly every meal that I can.
I spent too much of our money on buying prepared food while I’m out. When I started to understand that I could save up to $50 a week on food expenses if I simply cooked our own meals instead, I jumped at the opportunity. I obtained myself a few cookbooks and then began subscribing to several cooking related Youtube channels to watch during my downtime. At first it seemed overwhelming plus I wondered if I would ever learn enough to cook the meals I was dreaming of. But after a few months, I started to see the connections in how particular ingredients as well as spices are used in many dishes across many cooking styles. After a few days I was busy cooking in our kitchen several times a morning with modern dishes all of the time. When you are using the stove as much as I do, you create a lot of steam that can heat up your lake house separate from you realizing it. That’s why I honestly appreciate having a vent hood above our stove top in our kitchen. It takes all of that steam plus pushes it outside through an opening on our roof. My heating and cooling specialist is the professional who installed the vent hood plus the woman who services it plus maintains it. After long periods of time, the vent can become nasty as well as stained from the food you cook on a daily basis. I haven’t had any complications with our cooking ventilation system yet, although I keep scheduling inspections twice a year because of how often I utilize it.
