Working out in a gym offers surprising new benefits

When I lived in the country, I handled my workout at home.

I’d set an alarm for a couple hours before work and put in 60 minutes of strenuous exercise.

Sometimes, I ran or focused on cardio stuff. I had a home gym set up in my backyard shed. I’d take the time to properly stretch and then maybe put in a little weightlifting at the conclusion. I would sometimes be especially ambitious and work with a yoga video. When I relocated to the city because of my work, I wasn’t happy. I gave up my backyard shed and big yard. I no longer had the space to comfortably workout at home. I then discovered a gym that provides personal training. I decided to give it a try and see what I thought. I found that the group training classes are especially motivational. Before, it was a struggle figuring out what to do for my workout to burn max calories in a short amount of time. Now I just take a class and let the instructor guide me. The instructor encourages us through a series of stretches and makes sure we’re lifting weights properly. I have access to a lot of machinery that I didn’t have before. I get to use a rowing machine or elliptical. I can lift kettlebells and weighted balls. In the class, we do some partner exercises that focus on the abs. We do partner stretching that offers a much deeper stretch. It is a fun experience and offers social benefits too. I’ve made some wonderful new friends in my group training class. We meet after class for dinner and chat about our day. I don’t know if I will ever want to go back to working out at home. I’ve seen more progress than ever before, and I like having someone who is qualified provide instruction.
