I’ve given up hounding my dad about hiring an HVAC professional because I know he’s too proud to do that
My dad has always complained about his HVAC system. The HVAC equipment isn’t new, but it’s not due for a replacement either. If you talk to him, my dad will complain about how noisy the heat and air run and how expensive his monthly utility bills are. As someone who believes in taking care of an HVAC system properly, I always suggest that he hire an HVAC professional to come look at his HVAC equipment. My dad is super stubborn though and he refuses to hire help. He’s a handyman and he’s always been able to fix everything for our family, but HVAC systems are not his area of expertise. Unless you’re a certified HVAC professional, it’s hard to understand the inner workings of an HVAC system. Thankfully, I’ve seen my dad replace the air filter before, so I know that’s being taken care of. Truthfully, I don’t think there’s anything majorly wrong with his HVAC system, but I do think the equipment needs serviced! I’m willing to bet that my dad’s HVAC system has ever been serviced by an HVAC professional because it shows! There’s weird noises and it’s running inefficiently, which are two major signs that show a lack of maintenance. I’ve given up hounding my dad about hiring an HVAC professional because I know he’s too proud to do that. Instead, I’ve decided to hire an HVAC professional for him and he’s just going to have to deal with it. I’d rather him complain about me hiring someone behind his back instead of listening to him complain even more about his HVAC system.
