I like to pay for things with cash whenever possible, and since I knew that it was going to be months before we would probably start using the furnace again, I just let it go
Our electric furnace broke down a few weeks ago, but at least the weather is already heating up. It was definitely one of the longest, coldest winters that we have had around here in a while, and I’m glad that the temperatures aren’t freezing outside any more! A few weeks ago, I noticed that the oil furnace in the basement seemed to be making a weird noise. But at that point, I wasn’t about to call our local HVAC business to have them send out a heating technician. I thought that it was definitely close enough to spring so that we could wait to get the heating system fixed. I knew that waiting around for the next 7 or 8 months would give us a chance to save up enough money to pay the HVAC company for a furnace repair or possibly even a heating system upgrade. I like to pay for things with cash whenever possible, and since I knew that it was going to be months before we would probably start using the furnace again, I just let it go. I’m looking forward to the warm weather this spring and summer and I am thankful that the warmer temperatures are buying us some time with this whole heating equipment repair. I know that we will have to get the furnace fixed before next winter comes, but there’s a lot of time between then and now! I’m going to live in the moment this summer and hopefully I’ll come into some money before I actually need to use the furnace again.
