It has been a year for frustration and change in our household.
- This is part of the effect the pandemic has had on our lives.
I don’t have the desire to be moaning too loudly given that the two of us have been able to maintain our health. And that is something that the two of us are really grateful for. Of course, the two of us have been adopting all of the pandemic measures to make sure that the two of us easily remain healthy. And that if the two of us are asymptomatic, the two of us aren’t spreading the virus to other people. That being said, the two of us have entirely suffered economically this year on a scary level. I have had to labor from the comfort of the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C at the household. This has allowed me to continue earning my salary. Something I’m grateful to be able to continue to do. However, I haven’t been able to receive any of the bonus structure and that counts for approximately 20 percent of my annual income. Then there is my wife, she ended up losing her task entirely as her corporation laid her off and later completely closed down. She has found a few online gigs to receive a little amount of money but it’s not even half of what she was making previously. So the two of us have had to entirely cut back and be especially careful about our spending. But there have been some successes. Last summer, the two of us entirely focused on the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C utility costs. With some proactive steps and committed discipline regarding the temperature control setting, the two of us saved about 20 percent on Heating, Ventilation, and A/C utility costs. That was a wonderful savings. We easily saved hundreds over the course of the warm season. This was a welcome addition to our savings account. Hopefully, this year will see us get back on track even better.
