Many people wonder when buying a portable heater which route they should go? You have two choices when it comes to portable heating; you could go the electric space heater route, or you could go the gas portable heater route, I would personally not suggest going with the portable gas heater, and the reason for this is that it could become dangerous to both your life and your health if something was to go wrong.
Carbon monoxide poisoning is not a wonderful way to go out.
This is why I request going with a basic electric portable area heater, most portable area heaters these days have a fail safe to where if they get knocked over or are not touching a flat surface, they will shut off. At least the portable area heater that I have has this safety function and it’s great. Not to mention, portable heaters that are run on electricity are much cheaper than the portable gas heaters. And, there is also nothing to refill. You will never run out of electricity, while with the gas area heaters, you could run out of gas just like a car. I suppose whoever invented the gas area heater didn’t consider the risks involved or even suppose about how much it could cost in the long run to keep the gas area heater working all the time. However even with our central heating, I do not have a gas furnace. I have all electric central heating & air conditioning. Nothing in our place is gas because I simply believe that gas is just simply too dangerous.
