Security system for my mother

My mother just turned 80 years old last June. She hasn’t slowed down very much. She still drives her car to go shopping or have lunch with friends. She attends town board meetings and is very active in local politics. She loves her yoga class on Saturdays and her spin class on Wednesday evenings. She also manages to keep up with the cleaning, gardening and various upkeep on her home. Despite how spry she is, I worry about my mother living alone. I make a point to stop in and visit her nearly every day. I always call her in the evening before bed to make sure she’s safe, happy and healthy. However, I had this fear that she’d fall down and be unable to call for help. I didn’t want her scared or in pain with no way to get assistance. I worried that someone might realize she is an elderly lady living alone and break into the house. After some research, I decided to have a security system installed into her house. Although my mother absolutely loves the system, it took some adjustment. For the first couple of months, she accidentally set off the alarm at least once per week. The monitoring company would call me and I’d provide the proper code. We managed to avoid having the police or fireman show up at my mother’s house for no reason. Now, my mother is comfortable with the system and feels much more secure because of it. She always knows if someone pulls into her driveway. She can see who is knocking on her door without opening it. She is able to watch real time footage of every angle of her property through her ipad. There’s also a panic button in case of an emergency.
