An outbreak causes the branch to shut down for a week

My wife and I are doing everything we can to stay safe in this very uncertain climate.

We use hand sanitizer all the time and we wear rubber gloves when we go to the grocery store.

We wear a mask that covers our nose and our mouths. When we go to the grocery store, we wear two masks. Both of us have been doing our part to stay safe and keep our family safe since the beginning of the covid-19 outbreak. It’s been difficult to stay safe, especially since I have to leave that house for work everyday. My wife is working from home, so that is one less thing to worry about. I can’t work from home, because I am an HVAC repair technician. I still have to perform the work and that means going in and out of customers’ homes every single day. I still try to be safe, but I come in contact with dozens of people every day. I spent two days in one residence last week when I replaced the heat pump and the AC. One of the customers was coughing and sneezing and I hoped it was just allergies. Unfortunately, a few days after I installed the heat pump and the new AC, the customer called our repair branch to report that he was positive for Covid19. I was exposed to the virus and so were my co-workers, family, and friends. The outbreak caused our HVAC repair shop to shut down for a week and I had to quarantine for 14 days. That was one scary close call.
