While I know that it isn’t a good thing to pick favorites within your family, I just can’t help it.
- Ever since I was a kid my uncle pete was always my favorite family member to hang out with for many reasons.
Unlike my mom and dad who were always too busy to play catch with me at family get togethers, uncle pete was always willing to play catch with me for as long as I wanted to. During my youth he was able to teach me pretty much all I knew about the sports I loved and as each year passed so did our bond with one another. Now that I am a full grown adult and I have adult responsibilities, the bond between my uncle and I has still remained as strong as it was in years past. My uncle has worked as an HVAC repair tech ever since he was a young kid growing up in the city, so whenever I have had a problem arise with my air conditioning unit all I have to do is give him a quick call and he takes care of it for me. I recently did the math on how much money I have saved on HVAC installation and repairs over the two years of living on my own, and when I realized how much I saved I called my uncle and told him that I am going to treat him to a steak dinner soon to show my gratitude for all he has done for me. Now don’t get me wrong I love my other family members to death, but with a guy as fun and helpful as Uncle Pete, how can I not be at least a little biased when it comes to picking favorites?
