Why can’t the weatherman ever get it right?

Every morning I get out of bed and I turn on the news so I can watch the weather. It seems that no matter what he says, the weather is always different. I got into the habit of dressing for whatever he doesn’t call for. The other day, he announced that it was going to be in the sixties and sunny. I dressed in long pants and had a matching blazer. I really thought it was going to be cold that day. I had to admit that it was chilly enough to turn on the heating in my car. I got to work, expecting to have the heating system running. I worried that I was still going to be cold, since they didn’t have the furnace on. I was talking to the HR person, and he told me that the weather report called for the upper sixties. They were trying to conserve energy and do their part, along with the rest of the world. They turned the furnace off and thought that everyone would supply enough body heat to keep the room warm. I could feel the warmth beneath my collar. I finally decided to take off my jacket, glad that I had on a sleeveless sweater. The high collar wasn’t doing me any good. Without air conditioning, I was suffering and I almost felt sick. I asked HR if they had a portable AC unit I could use. He told me that it wasn’t that hot. He also said that if I had checked the weather I would have dressed for the warmer weather.
