I came up in an era when you were a guest in another’s household, you go by their rules. That’s just the way it is in addition to there absolutely isn’t any arguing that point. My parents were gracious individuals and raised myself and others to be that way also. That being stated, if I had refused to eat something that was placed in front of me, I would have met some drastic reality. I recall how I once came back to my household complaining about the HVAC at our Grandparents’ house. My mother sat me down and gave me a bit of a lecture. She told me that I needed to understand the context of situations like that. My Grandparents were on a fixed income and had to do with what they had as far as the HVAC device went. That stuck with me. However, I am absolutely having a taxing time with my inlaws in addition to how they go about heating their household. When I am there for the holidays, I just sweat in addition to sweat as the HVAC temperature is set in the 70s. But again, it’s their household so, I have to keep my HVAC preferences to myself. Yet, I am quietly starting to find my limits when regarding the HVAC device settings. That’s because our inlaws have no issue in the least simply adjusting our HVAC setting when they are visiting. And usually without asking. My wife won’t call them out on it. But, I’m not absolutely prepared for all out war with my in-laws over the HVAC device setting. I do suppose that I will be programming our HVAC device so that it can’t be manually adjusted during their future visits.
