I have no clue how things got to this point, however I recognize I didn’t do it deliberately.
I am kneeling in our living room in a pile of dust and ceiling tiles.
I finally admitted that I had to call the Heating and Air Conditioning supplier to get some help. I thought it would be easy to track the air duct and find out where my overall airflow loss was coming from. I didn’t guess it had anything to do with the gas furnace, since I diligently changed the air filter every month. I didn’t guess about the attic being a source of so much frustration and pain. I was upstairs sitting in my chair just looking at the air duct, trying to trace any kind of air coming out, or whatever I was supposed to be doing. The hour I took that fateful step, I knew I was in trouble. I could hear the creak of the boards and then our foot went through the attic floor and I was dangling above the living room. I was feeling the entire area deliver loose as I felt our fall and the ultimate abrupt stop when I landed on the floor in this pile of dust. I pulled our cellphone from our pocket and called the Heating and Air Conditioning supplier and then our spouse. She told myself and others I should have called the Heating and Air Conditioning guy first and after that she asked if I was all right. I told her about the mess in the living room and asked her to call a supplier. Every one of us needed more than an Heating and Air Conditioning specialist to repair what I had done. I need a ceiling in my dining room.
